Book vs. Movie Review

There are some differences between William Golding’s book Lord Of The Flies and Harry Hook’s movie. One of the differences was the presence of an adult on the island. The second difference was the importance of the conch. Third, factor that was different about the movie and the book was that the kids on the island in the movie were from the same school and in the book they were not.

The presence of the captain in the island on the movie made the kids feel more secure. Although he was not able to even speak the presence of him gave them hope that he could recover and guide them and help them on their way off the island. In case of the book, Golding makes only kids survive to make it more dramatic. Also, this will show how the kids became even more salvage with the passing of time, and how they fought, thanks to the lack of organization.

The importance of the conch in the book and the movie are different. In the book Golding uses the conch as a symbolism, and emphasizes it to make the story richer in poetic devices. In the movie they just wanted to tell an exiting story so the people enjoy it. Also I a movie they don’t want to make a big deal on the conch because that will make it harder to understand.

The Last difference is that in the book the kids didn’t know each other and in the movie they came from the same school and they did know each other. This made a difference on how the group separated. In the book they all needed to know each other and pick who was the leader and who would they follow, and in the movie since they knew each other they knew who should be the leader or whom would they be with.

Back Home
The huge flames of the fire that Jack started burned Ralph and Jack and everyone in his tribe except for Samnerick. They both got severely hurt. Ralph was able to run away from the fire, while Jack and some members of his tribe continued trying to find a way out
Later, he got completely surrounded by fire and he got no way out, and he died.
Ralph decided to go to the beach for being able to wash his wounds. He started walking down the mountains to the beach and he found Jack’s tribe and he begged” please, please don’t kill me!” Sam laughed and said, “We don’t know were Jack and the rest of the tribe are, but now that we killed the beast we don’t really mind. We only were on his tribe because he made us feel safe from the fact that the beast could kill one of us.
As soon as they commented Ralph this Ralph asked them” would you join my tribe and they agreed.
They continued their way to the beach. “I am starving of hunger I got to get food soon”
Erick added “Am Angry too. Lets get something to eat”
Sam said, “Lets hunt”
Jack replied, “Am hurt I prefer continuing our way to the beach and watching out for some fruit”
After they had walked for a while, and they were not that far to the beach, Ralph saw a palm and said “Hey we can eat coconuts”
They all agreed.
Sam tried to get them but he couldn’t reach them, so he called Ralph who was taller. Ralph tried and he wasn’t able to get them, so they decided to work as a team to reach them.
Sam and Erick kneeled down and Ralph will step on their knees. Their attempt was successful.
They sat down a tree to rest and eat the coconuts. Ralph finished with his and he wanted some more. So he waited Sam and Erick to finish eating theirs and then he asked for help. They got up and helped him.
When Ralph finished eating his second coconut it was already sunset. They were not going o be able to get to the beach before it turned dark unless they hurried.
They quickly got back into their way back to the beach.
Sam said “We are not making it to the beach today, why don’t we stay here over night”
Ralph replied, ”In my opinion we will make it, and my wounds really hurt. I want to get there today”
It was already dark when they finally got to the beach. When they got there Ralph went to wash his wounds while Sam and Erick Looked for a shelter to sleep over night.
While looking for shelter SamnErick Found a huge Boat. They were really exited and they got lots of hope. They went running to tell Jack the great news
As soon Ralph heard the great news, he went running to see the boat and in his way to the boat, in the darkness of the night he crashes someone and he fels on top of him. He said “Sorry, sorry are you okay?” The guy replied ”Yes, I am the navy officer uncharged to look for you guys. Finally I found you, I thought you weren’t alive!”. Sam replied, “well there is only some of us alive, not all of us”. The officer replied, “Were is the rest of you”. Ralph said, “We are the only ones alive”. They went back into the huge ship and when back home.





Rational
The part of the story I started on in my version was when Jack started the fire to kill Ralph. I chose this part was a great part to make some of the characters die. The characters I wanted to make die on my version are the mean ones.
This story has a meaning in terms of religion and in my religion I have always thought that god at a certain point makes mean people pay for their actions.
I thought that out of all the characters that were still alive at Golding’s ending the only ones who were not mean were Ralph, Sam, and Erick.
Before the story ended, I wanted all the rest of the characters to die and that way they could pay for their actions. That’s why I decided that only Ralph , Sam, and Erick were saved.

Book Review

The book “ Payne Stewart” By Tracey Stewart, wife of Payne Stewart with Ken Abraham is a marvelous book. I truly recommend it to any golfer. Even if you are not a golfer I still recommend this book. This book shows us to thank god for giving us a new day.
This book shows us a perfect example of an innocent person who doesn’t get a chance to receive that new day.
This book I got it as a gift from my uncle. He bought it. He read it, and then he founded it to be so good that he gave it to me and asked me to read it. At first he forced me to read it but as the time passed I got into it. I couldn’t stop reading it.
This book is about a professional golfer named Payne Stewart. It first tells the reader how his early career was. Second, It shows us what tournaments he won, when and was, and third he tells us how the accident happened. Payne Stewart was born in the 1950s in Missouri. At very young age he started playing golf with his grandfather. He won 11 professional golf tournaments. Between those 11 tournaments, 3 were called mayors who are the 4 more important ones.
After winning his last tournament in 1999 he passed away on an unexpected accident. No one expected this to happen and he died alone, and his body was never found.
The first line of this book “”Payne Stewart's life will be perpetual challenge to me- a challenge to live life more fully each day, to draw closer to God, to love y family and friends, and to align my priorities accordingly” This foreshadows that something bad will happens and changes her for life.

You Can't Have It All

But you can have birds singing in the sunrise like a symphony of flutes performing at the National Theater. You can have the love of mom and dad, hugging you and kissing you, to say I love you. You can have a 10 and 13 year old, Brothers always fighting who gets the front seat of the car

The experience of visiting US, eating fast food,
for lunch, for dinner, in the food court of the mall.
You can have a grandfather playing golf with you,
having fun, every moment he can.
You can’t count on an enemy to support you,
but you can have many friends that will which you the best and support you, who will be there for you, who will help you get better,
but when they fail you, you get mad,
and when you fail them, you expect them to understand you,
but things are not always as you want them, and things are not always as you want them and that’s why you can’t have it all,
but you can still have this.

It was witching hour’
I didn’t feel quite well,
Sweat ran down from my face,
I had a feeling something was going wrong.

It was five o clocks on a rainy day,
And the sky was not clear,
Lightning came of the dark cotton balls with fear and their loud sound made me shiver,

I was on a boat up in deep sea,
The boat went up and down the waves like a seesaw
The sea was an endless mountain sequence.

We were getting home but the journey,
Was not yet done,
The sky got darker,
And wavers became bigger.

But we were still in our way like if it was a normal day until,
We crashed,
I ran in panic with no clue of what to do and my face was full of tears,

The boat sunk,
We swam,
As wish hour was not over yet,
Now we were where we wanted to be,
We were safe!

Wish hour were over,
We were at the beach and the sun came out,
We were happy to see that big fireball again as we waited for rescue.
We saw a rescue boat and that was all, shish hour was done!

Found Poem

Ralph blew the Conch,
This made everyone to come together at the beach.

Not for fun,
Not for laughing,
Not for falling off the log,
Not for making jokes.

He started telling,
Work like ants,
Am annoyed and angry.

Also in here there is no beast,
No beast like the Hydra or the Dwelling dragons,
All of a sudden everyone started,

Not of bravery but of horror.

I am from liquor, from Grey Goose Vodka and Bacardi Rum.

I am from playing golf with my great uncle and eating lots of candy, from Papo, Mamia, and Amama.

I am from giving money to the ones who need it, and spending time in family.

From “your uncle is a great person,” and “your uncle is a great cook”.

I am from god, our savior, and our king.

I’m from Panama, from my grandma’s cookies, and my mother’s cheesecakes.

From my pour grandfather, from the luck he had, from the effort he made, and from making our family wealthy.

I am from Remedios, from it’s relaxing fields, from the fresh air, from the lots of animals.

I’m from my mother’s side of the family tree and all my branches turn to that side and they’ll never change.

Japan Has A fitful Strugle with Nature

A copious amount of people died or are missing in the earthquake measuring 8.9 on the Richter scale that Japan experienced on Friday, March 11th. This quake was the largest in Japan history This quake destroyed buildings and caused numerous fires.
The quake happened at 2:45 pm. with its epicenter in the Pacific Ocean. Half an hour later a second quake of 7.4 on the Richter scale took place in Japan and numerous aftershocks followed.
This quakes blocked mobile phone lines, which still don’t function as they usually do, brought down the television signal and left millions of homes without electricity.
This quakes were followed by a tsunami that affected Japan's azure eastern coast.
The tsunami caused waves of up to ten meters and destroyed houses and everything on his way in Sendai, a city were one million people live.
Japanese government asked people to remain alert to the numerous aftershocks and tsunami from the earthquake, and recommended to the people of Tokyo do not try to immediately return to their homes and remain calm.
Right now the Japanese government is working together with other nations to fight with this catastrophe, which has become a pang to many people all around the world.
The US government deployed their more capacious aircraft carriers to decelerate the number of deaths and facilitate the solving of this crisis.
Many people who are adept in economical issues believe this will have an effect on the world’s economy, since Japan is a crucial country for the world’s economy.

The House On Mango Street

The House On Mango street is a great memoir written by a well known  writer named Sandra Cisneros. This title means that her house on Mango Street meant a lot to her because this house made her realize something about herself.

This memoir is about Esperanza, a Mexican girl who lives in a poor naighborhood in the United States. She lives a live with many problems and while the story goes on she tells us everything about her life. Mainly of her growing up from a teenager to a young women.

In this story Esperanza tells us some things about her family. She tells us how her family, its members , and its issues. Esperanza also tells us about what she hoped for her future and what she dreamed . Last, she told us about how bos were not alike with girls and how a little thing could change your entire way to be.

At the end of this book Esperanza realizes that when she grows up she wants to have a big house of her own at the one she could point at and be proud of it.

I think this book was good in the way the author write and used poetic devices. Also, I found it easy to understand and interesting. I would recommend this book to a 14-16 years old boy or girl.

One quote I love from this memoir is “One day I will pack my bags of books and paper. One day I will say goodbye to Mango. I am too strong for her to keep me here forever. One day I will go away." I loved it because it let me realize how dedication and effort she has in order to accomplish her goals.Another line I loved was "When you leave you must remember to come back for the others.”. This line showed me that although she has fought so hard to get out from that neighborhood she’ll still come back once in  while to see her friends from her childhood.

Fleeing For Good

Once In tunesia, where the gooberment was communist.  No one was allowed to go out of the country. People weren't allowed to choose their jobs or what they wanted to study. In Tunesia it didn't matter if you were a sold ice cream or a lawyer they'll pay you the same. Last, they weren't allowed to go to the supermarket and buy whatever they wanted.  They gave you your food at the beginning of the month and if it ends they won't give you more.

People started complaining about all this unfair treatment, which hey didn't like. The government didn't react to their petitions, so they started conspiring to scape.  While conspiring to flee the country people who were conspiring it we're able to sleep for 2 weeks, but they reached their goal.  They escaped and 50 out of the 53 who tried to scape got to scape after 3 days walking through the forest to be able to get to Algeria, which was the country next to Tunesia. To this days some of them are still alive and many of them were able to build up their own business and now a days ther carry a very successful life.

Rich But Inllegal

Sean was a guy from panama who was lionize because he had a lot of money.  People thought he got money from working hard, but he really didn't really work at all.  He was a drug dealer.  He earned money illegally which he thought it was okay because if he was meticulous anyone will find out.
He had a group of 6 friends who also were drug dealers and he easily assimilate to the group.  When he had completely assimilated to the group they started selling drugs not only in panama,but also in Colombia.
For the first 3 months he was really happy he partied every night and he earned even more money than he used too.  He thought his life was going perfect and he bought a huge boat, a huge house, and a Ferrari; because of that the police started suspecting of him, and finally the police found out he was a drugdealee because he had a dissension with the other 6 people of the group and the group got mad at him so they told the police about him being a drug dealer.   
Finally, he got to jail and then to court, and he got a sentence of 25 years in jail.
